Technip Energies has secured a EUR 1 billion-plus EPC contract from Commonwealth LNG for a 9.5‑million‑tonne‑per‑year LNG facility in Louisiana, USA, the companies announced on Tuesday.
The contract involves delivery of six identical liquefaction trains using Technip Energies’ SnapLNG by T.EN modular solution, designed to reduce costs and accelerate schedules. The project remains subject to an FID by Commonwealth LNG.
The facility will be located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. Technip Energies completed the front‑end engineering and design (FEED) for the project in Q2 2023, after securing full FERC authorisation in Q4 2022. Commonwealth aims to shift over 10 million work hours offsite through modular construction, reducing peak onsite labour by up to 90% and targeting first cargo deliveries in early 2027.
“This project is pivotal in enhancing global energy security by ensuring a reliable and efficient supply of LNG,” Technip Energies CEO Arnaud Pieton said.
